Mid-Atlantic Hedgehog Show 2010
One of the main events of our day is a Hedgehogworld.com sanctioned conformation show. This will be a non-handled event, as developed by hedgehogworld.com. Hedgehogworld.com believes that shows are great tools that allow us to combine our desire for education, improve quality of care and quality of the species, and assist owners and breeders in forming a support system with other  hedgehog fans. Some will see our shows as merely a fun party, but we believe that our shows will have a long lasting effect on hedgehogs and the community. To view the hedgehogworld.com show standard and to learn more about the non-handled show format, please click here.

After Pre-Registering for the show (thank you!) you may want to focus on making sure your hedgehog is in great condition.  Is he too heavy or too thin?  Ears ragged, nails trimmed?  Since this is a non-handled show, you will need to have a Medium sized Kritter Keeper.  This can be something you purchase at a pet store before the show, or you can contact us to purchase or rent one.  Wear something comfortable but neat on show day yourself, and make sure that you and your hedgehog are comfortable and enjoy yourselves! Conformation Show
Games and Fun Classes
We would like to thank Kelly of Hamor Hollow Hedgehogs for sharing her fabulous games! Hedgehogs registered for games should be presented to the games stations at any time during show hours that they are not entered in conformation show. To prevent the spread of germs we recommend that you bring your own 11.5" giant size run-a-bout ball. Two balls and sanitizing liquid will be provided to share but we strongly recommend you bring your own ball. Games will include Cactus Crawler, where the hedgehogs collect points by knocking down the most cacti between two gates; Go, Speed Racer, Go!
where the fastest racer down the drag race track in a run-a-bout ball wins; Worm Wrangler where hedgehogs find and eat the most bugs to win; and Hedgehog Bowling where hedgehogs compete to see who can knock down the most pins in a run-a-bout ball!
We will also be having some non-conformation non-athlete events for hedgehogs, including a Costume contest, where hedgehogs can show off their owner's creativity. Props must take up no more space than 2 x 1 foot, and owners are welcome to dress to complement their hedgehog's costumes.
Children under the age of 12 can enter the junior showmanship class, where they are evaluated for knowledge of their hedgehog's care, comfort handling the hedgehog, and general hedgehog enthusiasm. Space is limited, so register now!
